From starting with a $20 sewing machine to leading one of the region’s most anticipated cultural events, Penelope Tinitali has transformed her passion into a movement. On New Year’s Eve at the Avelon Ballroom in Tacoma, she will present the 5th Annual Samoa Fashion Show, themed Tula’i Fou (“Arise Anew”).

This year marks a turning point as the event stands independently, celebrating Samoan designers and their artistry in the heart of Tacoma’s 6th Ave district—a hub for creativity and cultural exchange. Guests will enjoy a full VIP experience, featuring a red-carpet entrance with interviews, complimentary food, an open bar, live entertainment, and the opportunity to meet the designers who bring these garments to life.

A special highlight will be the appearance of Marina Davis, the internationally acclaimed Samoan artist from Australia, known for her chart-topping hit “Lau Samoa.”

For Tinitali, the show is more than fashion—it’s a way to honor heritage, empower designers, and keep Samoan culture thriving. By providing a free platform for creators, Teu Runway has inspired new businesses, connected communities, and placed Samoan talent on a global stage.

Celebrate culture, creativity, and new beginnings on December 31. Tickets available at TicketsCandy.
