October 5 - 12 The Tacoma Film Festival began and continues to this day as a project of the Grand Cinema. The weeklong festival celebrates independent film, giving audiences an opportunity to see some of the most recent and best short films, documentaries, animation and narrative features from all over the world. Another focus of the festival is to celebrate filmmaking right here in the Pacific Northwest, with the festival screening films by many up-and-coming filmmakers from this region.
